Service Description

The Couture Consultation is a private, one-on-one virtual appointment and the first step in the FERN couture process. This consultation is ideal for clients seriously considering a custom commission, whether in the exploratory phase or prepared to begin. During our time together, we discuss your vision in depth — including the type of garment you wish to create, personal style preferences, desired silhouettes, materials, and any specific details or references you would like incorporated. We also review timeline considerations, feasibility, and establish a comfortable investment range to ensure thoughtful alignment from the outset. Each consultation is tailored to the depth of discussion required and typically lasts 30–45 minutes, allowing space for both creative exploration and intentional planning. For clients who choose to move forward, this session provides the foundation for initial design direction and next steps. If you decide to continue with your project, an initial design deposit is collected at the conclusion of the consultation: $500 for projects estimated under $2,000 $1,000 for projects estimated over $2,000 This deposit initiates the sketching and design development phase and is applied toward the final cost of your garment.
